Synopsis

About sCANdaLoUs

When the daughter of an Indian business tycoon falls in love with a young soca musician, they battle her family's skepticism about love by playing matchmaker to the family's least likely sweethearts: a world-wisened pair of bickering friends.

Based on William Shakespeare's classic Much Ado About Nothing, the award-winning screenplay Scandalous! will be a mid-budget Bollywood-style musical comedy feature film with the potential to spawn a soundtrack of global hits.

Scandalous! will be shot on location in Trinidad and Tobago where the local film commission offers an attractive incentive in the form of a thirty percent rebate on production expenses.

What is Soca?

Soca is a dance music that combines the Afro-Caribbean sounds of calypso with uptempo Indian rhythms.

It has a global audience of approximately 100 million people. The music is the driving force behind “the greatest show on earth”: Trinidad and Tobago Carnival which draws some 40,000 visitors from Canada, the US, Europe, the Caribbean and India.
