Scandalous Begins Shooting at Parade of Bands, Carnival Monday & Tuesday

(TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, February 11, 2010) Filming on Scandalous!, the soca Bollywood movie starring Machel Montano is set to begin at the Parade of Bands, Carnival Monday and Tuesday. The shoot will consist of gathering second unit footage, footage that typically includes shooting scenery and establishing shots

Second unit director, Claire Ince will supervise the filming of carnival scenes in Island People Mas'. Ms. Ince is an MFA graduate of NYU film school whose work has been selected for the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. Her screenplay for Scandalous won the Bahamas International Film Festival's screenplay contest and was a finalist for the Indian Film Festival of LA's inaugural development grant.

Ince is joined by the visionary behind the project, Trinidad and Tobago producer Ancil McKain and cinematographer, Edwin Martinez who lensed the Sundance award-winning feature "What Alice Found". Production services are being provided by Rivelino Simmons.

Ancil McKain, currently based in New York, looks forward to shooting Trinidad and Tobago's legendary carnival for the authenticity it will lend to the finished film. "We are excited to be filming one of the greatest shows on earth and grateful to all our partners especially Xtatik Ltd, Island People, and the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company for making this happen," he said. Producing partner Simon Bosanquet of Generator Entertainment UK added that the footage would serve as a great aide memoire to the film's principal director once shooting resumes later in the year.
